by kim on Thursday, May 9th, 2013

936987_383422361772779_1874077450_nI was lucky enough to receive this awesome Onbi Baby Smash Baby Food Press for Making Healthy, Homemade Baby Food. What I love so much about it, is the simplicity and ease of use. As a mom, I am always concerned about what I am allowing my boys to put into their bodies. I myself, own a juicer and I use it daily for myself and my family. When I heard about this  new tool, I just had to have one in my army against processed foods.  I try to concentrate on feeding my family as many single, unprocessed foods as possible. The ones that are in their original state. Fruits, Nuts, Vegetables, Berries etc. images

More about the product:

The Onbi Baby Smash has three main pieces (and includes a spoon): the bottom “bowl” piece, the slotted “smash” piece, and a lid to keep the mess contained. All of these pieces easily dissemble for cleaning. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Step 1: Fill the Smash with your baby’s favorites!

Step: 2: SMASH!!

Step 3: Feed your baby (directly from the Smash)!

This product is definitely portable and great for families on the go. Light weight and compact. Toss it in the diaper bag and out the door you go. This is perfect if you have a child that has food allergies too.

RK_1234_allI wanted to share my journey with you. This January has marked my 37 birthday. After 3 children and a lot of deliciously bad for you foods, I have decided to go on a diet. This is not going to be your typical cut calories and exercise for hours diet. I have read that it is better to make small changes that will last a lifetime. I mean, there is no substitute for proper diet and exercise, but on the path to fitness it’s okay to get a little help along the way from the best mother nature has to offer. That is why I am going to get help from my friends over at Creative Bioscience.

I am currently going to try a new product to help me lose weight, and I told them I would update my readers with it’s progress.  It’s a 90 Day Weight Loss Challenge, from Creative Bioscience.  My goals are simple – I’ve hit that part in my regime where I hit a plateau.  I believe their product, Raspberry Ketone 1234™, will help he healthily pass this plateau.

http://www.creativebioscience.com/90-day-weight-loss-challenge.html

So there’s this chemical in your body called adiponectin.  It’s a fat-moderating hormone.  It tells your body how much of what you eat be stored as fat.  Scientists and nutritionists believe that Raspberry Ketones help regulate this hormone, and by regulating it, tells your body NOT to store the sugars and fats.  These Raspberry Ketone 1234™ supplements are designed not only to promote fat oxidation (burning), but help sugars and fats pass through your system without being absorbed and stored as they normally would.  Obviously I’m not going to assume these are magic pills, able to defeat everything fast-food.  But, Raspberry Ketones are clinically supported to promote healthy body metabolism to help you achieve your goal weight.

Natural diet supplements such as Raspberry Ketone 1234™ are designed to help block fat formation as part of an ongoing lifestyle change that includes sensible eating and activity. There is no substitute for proper diet and exercise, but on the path to fitness it’s okay to get a little help along the way from the best mother nature has to offer.

If any of this sounds like it’s something you want to try out, you can click this link here ->

I am very interested in this product because there has been research that test subjects given Raspberry Ketones experienced slowed weight gain even during a high fat diet, and that Raspberry Ketones work to prevent and improve obesity. Getting on in age, I definitely do not want to add any additional pounds to my body!

Now, if you are a blogger and would like to try out a product from Creative Bioscience, you can contact them and apply for a 90 Day Weight Loss Challenge of your own!

Eukanuba Senior Maintenance Dog Food

by kim on Tuesday, November 20th, 2012

Did you know that I am a Bzz Agent? I have been a member since 2005! You can join too via this link!

They send me lots of free products to try and I share them with my friends and family. Over the years, I have reviewed some pretty awesome products. This month I have the pleasure to work with them as myself and other Agents review Eukanuba.

We have used Purina One for all of our pets lives. With that in mind, I am going to take a moment to describe what I like about Eukanuba.  Digestion has always been important to me. How can a product sustain you? The answer is fiber. Fiber from a blend of natural beet pulp and prebiotic FOS promotes nutrient absorption and digestive health. That is what Eukanuba promises. My dogs are usually ravenous by 5pm their usual feeding time. I have noticed after about a week or so of eating the Eukanuba dog food they are not whining for their dinner the minute I walk through the door. Their food seems to be filling them up and keeping them fuller longer. That along with a noticeably shinier coat makes Eukanuba brand dog food a new brand of dog food that I can trust!

Captain McFinn and Friends Book(s) Review

by kim on Wednesday, September 5th, 2012

I was recently sent a set of 3 books from the series Captain McFinn and Friends.  The creator, Phyllis Cafaro, takes a stab at a very serious problem that faces our children each and every day. The subject of bullying. I am very new to the concept as my son has just started kindergarten today. It is with a heavy heart, I read these stories and hope my son is safe in school, on the bus, and in a few years…online.

I am happy that Phyllis Cafaro, has decided to write this thoughtful and engaging series of stories based on such colorful undersea characters. Lets take a minute and meet them, shall we?

UNDERWATER FRIENDS

CAPTAIN McFINN ~ Once the biggest bully on Sand Dusty reef, McFinn, a blacktip reef shark, renounced his bullying ways when the Undersea Friends showed him the virtues of helping and caring for others.

THREE TOOTH ~ Originally named Four-Tooth, Three-Tooth the rabbitfish got his new name after losing one of his teeth while helping free McFinn from a tight situation. As Captain McFinn’s loyal, best friend, Three-Tooth’s curiosity gets the pair into many adventures.

BELLA THE ANGEL FISH ~ Bella is known throughout Sand Dusty Reef for her kindness. Though McFinn was a big bully, Bella did not hesitate to help him when he was in trouble. As a kind soul, she sees the good in everyone.

INKY THE OCTOPUS ~ Inky’s boundless friendship is a great gift to everyone living at Sand Dusty Reef. His eight gentle arms and legs are always available to reach out to help his friends and give them many hugs.

CORAL ROSE THE PRINCESS BETWEEN THE TIDES ~ Coral Rose is a beautiful young girl whose throne sits upon an enchanted coral reef. Following the pull of the tides, Coral Rose travels all over the world to coral reefs that are in need of her magical healing power. When her work is done and the reefs are healthy once more the tide brings her safely home.

G.E.M. ~ The Great Eco Machine, better known as G.E.M, evolves into anything she wants so that she can help her best friend Coral Rose clean up the ocean.

THE BULLIES

TOX ~ Before McFinn stopped being a bully, Tox was his right-fin fish. For such a small fish Tox has a mean streak a mile long. A species all his own, he prides himself on being a bully.

STINK ~ As one of the mean Bully Brothers, Stink is rarely seen without Stank. He’s a species all his own. He’s one of the bullies of Sand Dusty Reef and he loves to pick on fish smaller than him.

STANK ~ Stank is the other Bully Brother. He is always seen by his brother’s side, even though Stink makes fun of him all the time. Not one to think for himself, Stank does whatever the other bullies do.

This book series is aimed towards promoting kindness and friendship for children ages 4-8 and in exchange for my review I was sent these 3 stories:

Captain McFinn and Friends Rock

The Legend of Captain McFinn and Friends

Captain McFinn and Friends Rock Meet Coral Rose

The cast of characters live together in Sand Dusty Reef. What I liked most about these stories is that they focus not only on bullying, but other very important subjects that affect the world in which we live. Each story touches on environmental awareness and recycling. I think we should teach our children at a very young age the importance of reusing items. Before we throw anything away in our home, we always take a moment to decide how it can be re-purposed.  I love that this book series reflects what I try to teach my son. It’s just another way to reinforce values. As Captain McFinn would agree, Children learn from what we do, not just what we say.

I hope you take a moment to visit Captain McFinn and all his friends online at:

www.captainmcfinn.com

They have all sorts of games, coloring pages, sing a longs, along with fun ocean facts! and be sure to like Captain McFinn and Friends on facebook too!
