My husband was just telling me about this place a couple weeks ago. Here is a review from his co-worker Mary:
Hi everyone – If you have never heard of or have never been to Hidden Valley Animal Adventure, I strongly recommend this for adults and kids. It’s a beautiful area located in Varysburg (30 min drive from E.A.-sorry, my only frame of reference!) The biggest attraction is the tractor driven ride through the wild game area. About 30 people can fit into a covered wagon. You are given a large cup full of grain to feed the animals and the adventure begins. You are driven into a area where animals such as; zebra, ostrich, EMU’s, deer, Long horn steer, Llama, Buffalo, donkey’s and various other animals approach the wagon and you feed them and admire their beauty. The ride is about an hour long, stopping periodically to look at different animals. The tour guide we had answered any questions about the animals, their habitats, the babies, feeding habits, etc. It was both enjoyable and entertaining. There are 4 wagons available and tours are every 20 minutes, so if you miss one, the next one will be along shortly. The cost for this tour is $16, kids under 10 are, I believe $12 (There is a buy one get one free coupon in the Entertainment book)
There is also a small petting zoo. Shetland ponies, goats, Llama, pigs, etc. You can view a Camel and also a kangaroo! Also, a beautiful lodge to get food and drinks-reasonably priced. Right now the grounds are covered with beautiful areas of flowers. Ducks and geese are plentiful, as well as their babies. I believe Saturday they have an enormous bonfire. Never have seen that much kindling in my life!
Check out the website for available dates as they have several weddings coming up, and therefore the area is closed to the public.
This a great family adventure. We stayed about 4.5 hrs and enjoyed the day immensely – of course those who know me well know that I am an animal lover and certainly may have enjoyed this more than others would. Take a look at the website to see if this might interest you…..
